52 Project - week 49 | Katy Houston Photographer

Theme for week 49 is.......motion.....
luckily I just happen to have some images from this week that fit.  What do you know?
First up is an iPhone photo of our daughters dancing at our nephew's wedding....because I did NOT take my camera.  The second is self explanatory, and the third is my friend's dear daughter playing in the leaves.

Project 52 - week 40 | Katy Houston Photographer

Well the winds of change are in the air as we enter the beautiful fall season.  Even in Texas the air is changing (but it ALWAYS is).
Honestly, I have been seeing recently how our lives are truly changing each and every day.  From the moment we begin our day, we are destine for change.  I, personally, have always opposed change, but have been coming more and more aware that it CAN be good.
I will not share all the personal changes going on in our lives, but hope that I am changing for the better through it all.  I pray that the Lord will change ME to be more like HIM!
So, with all of these random thoughts thrown out on you, I will tell you that this photo is the one I chose for this weeks Change theme because it is the only one I have taken this week.  I do read a lot of change into this one though.  Mainly the fact that my precious little girl is going to be turning 8 in a couple of weeks, ever growing into a beautiful young lady inside and out.  I also see the changing of the light as the sun goes down earlier.  This makes for a wonderful time, not only to run out and take photos in the perfect light, but to also look at the light as it trickles through the trees and shines beautifully as a backlight encompassing our world.

Project 52 - week 37 | Katy Houston Photographer

Detail.....
There were soooo many details that I failed to capture on camera this week.  But one rainy night I did take out the camera and shoot a little.  The first images I absolutely love as my sweet 2 year old was all about the details in her play....she seated, reseated, arranged, rearranged, adjusted, and readjusted her 3 dollies I couldn't even tell you how many times.  She wanted them to be a certain way...this spoke detail to me.  Meanwhile, my other precious daughter was building legos with her daddy...well...she was building and he was watching since she took over all the details of this special bathroom.  Notice it has a urinal too LOL.
Our evening was captured to remember for the rest of our lives......these are meaningful details.

Project 52 - week 34 | Katy Houston Photographer

Whimsy!  I love this word.  It inspires me to want to do so many playful things with my kids and my photography.  I didn't dedicate much effort in this week, even though this is probably my favorite theme yet.  I am just getting back in to the swing of things after a wonderful summer. Perhaps I will strive to do my own whimsy theme one week soon just for the fun of it.
For now...these are as whimsical as we were this week what with getting ready and going back to school.
I hope you enjoy these.
Please circle the blogs and see other (I am sure fabulous) interpretations.

Free is our theme this week.  I could go on about being free and what freedom really means...but I am sure many of my fellow blog friends will be introspective and serious this week about this theme.  Therefore, I have decided to make the theme reflect the sometimes goofiness of our humanness.....FREE to BE YOU And ME!  :)

Aaahhh summer....the heat...the sweat...the boredom...the misery.  LOL!  Well, summer, you have great things to offer as well....like a more relaxed schedule, fun fabulous camps, vacations, swimming, friends....just a few doses of freedom.  I cannot capture in these 4 little images all that summer means...but here is a tiny tiny glimpse of our week.  I have all the real images on my iphone, but I will spare you the snapshots this week :)

Project 52 - week 24 | Katy Houston Photographer

Theme: Friend
I had been hoping to post a photo of me and my BFF this week! BUT sickness entered the picture so....no can do.
Therefore, I am afraid I am going to have to let you all down this week :( I have to post instagram photos because though our summer has been full of friends (even some I didn't get pictures of), they have been captured with my phone.  I promise to pick up my camera a lot this coming week for next week's summer theme.  Half of these are frome this week, and the rest are all from earlier this month.  Hope you enjoys our special friends anyway....we love them so! P.S.  Added a couple of family as well...because they are kinda friends too right?

Project 52 - week 22 | Katy Houston Photographer

Black and White is this week's theme.  As usual, I had other things in mind, but I didn't pursue them.  It is a very busy summer so far!
The first is of my black and white baby!  And the second is my 7 year old watching a movie in between the busyness of Tuesday.  The last three are cheats because I took them last weekend...added just because.

Can't wait to see what the circle brings this week.

week 21  - Memory

Memory is not one of my strengths.  I don't remember a lot about my life in detail.  Just blippits.  It seems to me, that it is mostly a blur. Perhaps underlying my love for photography is the need to preserve a memory.  If there is a visual (and perhaps a statement to go with it) then I am more likely to recall that precious moment, that stage, or that event.  While I LOVE my photographs and my amazing camera and lenses, I have lost sight of the many moments that take place each and every day.  I am striving to do better in capturing just the simple pleasures of my everyday life with my family.  My iphone is one of the best things I could have for helping me do this.  It is always handily in my pocket or bag!  I may not be happy that these pictures are by no means perfect photographs, but they are perfect memories!
This week, I didn't capture much on my instagram....but here is what I did get:

Playing before school
 Being cool
My girl

 Firestarter
 Review with dad
 Steak n shake
 Just so cute
 Love hurts doggie
 Pretend sleep
